This is Japan #1

Today I want to tell you about Kamakura. Kamakura is one of the famous sightseeing area in Kanagawa Prefecture. But I won't talk about Japanese history because I'm not familiar with the history. There are many temples and the great Buddha in Kamakura. It is very historical and offers many tasty foods. It is a very wonderful place.

After I arrived at JR Kita-Kamakura Station, I went to a temple very near the station called Engakuji. It's not too much to say that the station is Engakuji Station. This temple's founders are Hōjō Tokimune and Mugaku Sōgen. They told people about Engaku-kyo. It's a kind of religion.

Inside this temple, you can feel time passes ever so slowly. And this temple is so big. If you walk around this temple, it takes about 30 minutes.

If you take the stairs, you can see the big main gate of a Buddhist temple. And inside of this temple is divided into several areas.

There are not many flowers in this season. However you can find some small and beautiful flowers there.

I found a cute statue of Buddha at this temple. Isn't that very cute? I think this mysterious thing is so cute. I don't know what this is, but I suppose this statue of Buddha at this temple is meaningful.

Near this temple, you can drink real matcha and some Rakugans (dry confection of starch and sugar, mixed and pressed into a pattern). This experience is so nice. If you come to this place, you have to drink matcha and eat these sweets. You can get a good memory in Kamakura.

That's all for today. But the story of Kamakura will continue in the next post.
Thank you for reading, see you soon.
