Today I'm going to write a continuation of
my last post about my trip to Shizuoka. I went to Shuzenji Temple in Shizuoka
prefecture. Shuzenji Temple is one of Japan's famous sightseeing places. It has
a long history on the Izu peninsula.
One of the best 100 hot springs in
Japan, Shuzenji-Onsen is in this place. It has historical buildings and
a tasteful atmosphere. Nearby are towns that
resemble Kyoto. The Katsura River flows in the central hot springs area. Along the riverside, there are many hot springs, hotels and restaurants.
After a few minutes
walk from this famous place, you can see and walk through a bamboo
forest street.
It was a really tasteful street and so it was such a fine autumn day I when went
there. It seemed more beautiful than any other day. And also I went
to Shuzenji Temple. There were so many autumn leaves here, it was so dazzling.
The hot springs here are historical. One of them was
created by Kobo Daishi for sick people. There is a famous Ashiyu foot bus,
called Tokko-no-Yu.
This bath is located on a riverside of the Katsura River. I
bathed in this hot spring, but I think it wasn't any different than other hot springs. I didn't feel a special
power.
All of this trip was amazing. And also I
was glad to see so many beautiful scenes and autumn leaves. It was a nice
experience for me. I want to go to Kyoto Prefecture someday,
because I have never been to Kyoto. I love tasteful places. Of course I like
Kamakura among nearby places. Traveling further is expensive, but traveling somewhere
is worth it for my life.
If you have an opportunity to go to this
place, bathing in all seasons is ok. But if you want to go
sightseeing around this place, I think you should go in autumn or spring which are the best seasons. Of course, bathing should be included in your plan.
Thank you for reading!!!
